Photo Markt is a marketplace that connects sports photographers with the people they photograph. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We collect the minimum we need to run the marketplace.

Our optional "find my photos" feature lets you upload a selfie to find pictures of yourself at an event. Your selfie is sent to AWS Rekognition (region eu-west-1) for a single similarity search and is then discarded — we do not store your selfie or any biometric data derived from it. To make this matching possible, faces detected in photographers' event photos are indexed in AWS Rekognition; we keep only the returned face identifiers mapped to the photos, never raw biometric templates. Events involving minors are excluded from this feature.
Original photos are stored privately. Public previews are watermarked and reduced in quality; the full-resolution original is only made available through a short-lived link after a confirmed purchase. We never expose the original storage location publicly.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number — Stripe handles card data directly as a PCI-compliant provider. We retain order records (amounts, status, and Stripe references) to fulfil purchases, pay photographers, and meet accounting obligations.
We share data only with the providers that power the service, and only as needed to run it:
We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and to secure your session. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.
We keep your account and order data for as long as your account is active and as long as we need it to meet legal and accounting obligations. Selfies used for face search are not retained. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal data at any time.

Photo Markt is not intended for children. Events that may involve minors are excluded from face-search indexing, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child's data has been shared with us, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy as the product evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
